Will Street Fighter IV be able to Revitalize Fighting Games?

| Street Fighter 4 hits in 2 weeks, in what is probably the most anticipated release for a fighting game in nearly a decade. I'm totally excited, hoping that interest in the game will generate a "renaissance" of sorts for fighting game enthusiasts. A more likely scenario, however unfortunately, is that fighting games are and will forever remain a pretty niche genre. Do you think SF4 will refresh a stale fighting genre, prompting the release of at least 3 other highly rated fighting games this year? (With meta critic scores over 80) |
