| Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the most popular driver in all of NASCAR, which is the most popular spectator sport in America. He has never won a championship in NASCAR's top series, and only has 18 career race victories, but his popularity is helped because his father was Dale Earnhardt, Sr., the most successful and popular driver in the sport's history. Earnhardt Sr. was killed when his car hit the wall during the 2001 Daytona 500 - while his son finished second. "Dale Jr.," has become a hugely popular driver, but has never won a title.
