Large Hadron Collider
Extra dimensions? Black holes? The world's largest particle accelerator complex, the Large Hadron Collider, begins testing deep underground between France and Switzerland. Through a 17-mile tunnel beams of protons circulate, crashing into each other, to replicate the Big Bang and provide new information about how the world works. Can the experiments generated with the Collider provide enough data to make a discovery by 2009?
